JEWEL BOX ON ADAMS STREET
This design project on Adams, situated in the heart of New Orleans, is a stunning residential space that embodies the essence of a beautifully curated Indophile's home. This project showcases a unique blend of traditional and modern design elements, creating a captivating and culturally rich environment.
A historic renovation of a Queen Anne house built in 1888 to house a sophisticated world traveler woman who loves her travel reflected in the decor. The gold wallpaper in the front parlor is original since the sixties and we used that as the inspiration for the rest of the design employing jewel tones, sumptuous drapery, trims and tassels, and precious finishes. We used bold colors and objects from her travels to accessorize the space. The kitchen in particular was vintage from the 60s and in keeping its original charm we added red cabinets that recalled the red formica that once was added a punch with exuberant wallpaper and color on trims, walls and window treatments. the bathroom was treated with equal glamour. The hallway leading is covered in Missoni wallpaper and Farrow & Ball paint. The bath itself has 2 Missoni wallpapers forming the wainscot and above. The sink is clad in cristallo quartz and the tiles evoke old palaces.
Overall, the Interior Design Project on Adams presents a captivating example of modern interior design, blending cultural influences and aesthetic sensibilities to create a truly unique living space.
