NOMITA JOSHI INTERIOR DESIGN
Led by Nomita Joshi-Gupta, NJID is a New Orleans based full-service interior design studio offering residential and commercial interior design. With projects around the country, the studio specializes in luxury interior design, historic preservation, office interiors, hospitality and retail design.
Working closely with architects, contractors, builders, and local artisans, Nomita Joshi Studio brings a modern cultivated approach to each project. This process is multifaceted from space planning, furniture design, custom kitchen and bath design, FFE selection, finishes and hardware down to the last door knob.
With an eductional background in architecture, urban planning, preservation and interior design, the firm holds 20 years of experience with mindful solutions for a variety of spaces.
The studio has been published in magazines local and national including Dwell, Architectural Digest, Ist Dibs, La Vie and locally in New Orleans Homes and Lifestyles. The firm has won ASID awards Gold for Historic Renovation, Silver for Commercial, gold for Kitchen Design and an Ovation for Best Design. The firm also won IIDA's Design Excellence Award for Historic Preservation, and Renovation and Residential Award.
OUR STUDIO
Our Studio's Office and Gallery are located adjacent to our parent company SPRUCE SHOWROOM
a multi-line wallpaper and fabric showroom in business since 2008. Our showroom is a source of immense inspiration for our decorative arts projects involving drapery, upholstery and color consultations.

Nomita Joshi-Gupta - Studio Principal Louisiana Registered Interior Designer #1481, NCIDQ, ASID, IIDA
Ms. Joshi-Gupta grew up in India and pursued her studies in Architecture at LSU and Urban Planning at UNO in the United States. Inspired by her architect father, the international style of her hometown, Bangalore, and the rich cultural heritage of New Orleans, she infuses her design work with a modern global perspective. With years of expertise in Architecture, Planning, and Historic Preservation, she is a licensed Interior Designer in Louisiana. Currently, she serves as the Planning Commissioner for the City of New Orleans and is an executive board member of the Preservation Resource Center. Her previous board roles include Chair of ASID for New Orleans, and board member of the New Orleans Film Society, Arts Council, and The Green Project New Orleans
Sarah Allee-Walsh - Senior Designer
Sarah is a graduate of the Louisiana State University Bachelor of Interior Design program. She recently returned from four years of working with interior design and architecture firms in NYC and worked with Olivia Erwin Interiors in New Orleans prior to joining Nomita Joshi Interior Design + Spruce. She has been integral to residential and commercial projects and looks forward to obtaining her NCIDQ in the next year.

Zoe Schello - Design Associate
Zoe Schello is a graduate of the LSU Interior Design program. A New Orleans native, she comes to us with previous experience working with Hattie Sparks Design. She is intimately involved in all aspects of the design studio, especially in residential design, logistics, and programming.
OUR DESIGN SERVICES
Residential Interiors
We offer full service custom design services for historic renovations as well as new-build residential design. Our team collaborates with clients, architects and contractors to deliver unmatched quality and service. We offer fixed fee services or a retainer based contract for this level of service.
